Application and development of p-tert-butylphenol

(1) Preparation of oil-soluble phenolic resin
1. Active phenolic resin
P-tert-butylphenol and formaldehyde were condensed under the action of sexual catalyst to produce p-tert-butylphenol formaldehyde resin. The products are used to prepare neoprene adhesive, rubber vulcanizing agent, coating, oil, enamelled wire and other fine chemical products.
2. Inactive pure phenolic resin
Using acid as catalyst, the condensation of tert-butylphenol and formaldehyde was used to produce inactive pure phenolic resin. The resin is specially used for the preparation of neoprene adhesive.
3. Using cation exchange resin as catalyst, the inactive pure phenolic resin was prepared, which was specially used for preparing chloroprene adhesive. Whether active or inactive resin, the meltable phenolic resin can be obtained by adding 10~15% of this product into the chloroprene adhesive. Chloroprene adhesive is mainly used in transportation, construction, civil shoes, etc. It can also be used for the preparation of rosin modification, offset printing, advanced photogravure, etc., as well as the production of coil dip varnish and laminate varnish.
(2) Preparation of spices
1. Tert-butylcyclohexyl acetate
2.4- tert-butyl-1,1 dioxethylcyclohexane is used as raw material for catalytic dehydrogenation to produce tert-butylcyclohexanone, and then hydrogenated with ethylene glycol ester to become tert-butylcyclohexanol, and then acetylated to produce tert-butylcyclohexanol acetate, commonly known as violet ester, with woody aroma, can be well scented with violet one.
Tert-butylphenol cyclohexanone has a strong camphor taste, used in soap, detergent aroma.
(3) Used as antioxidant and stabilizer
The condensates of p-tert-butylphenol and barium sulfide, widely used as additives for oils and fats, are condensed with sulfur dichloride or sulfur monochloride to produce dialkylphenol sulfide and polyalkylphenol sulfide which can be used as corrosion inhibitors and antioxidants. This product is also used as rubber, soap, chlorinated hydrocarbons, nitrocelluloose stabilizer.
(4) Used as the reaction termination agent of phosgene polycarbonate process: the addition amount is 1.0~3.0% of resin
(5) Other applications
Used for epoxy resin modification, xylene resin modification, condensation the product is widely used in preparation of daily chemical essential oil and soap, detergent flavor. And raw materials used as polyvinyl chloride stabilizers. The disubstitution of tert-butylphenol can be used in the production of antioxidant, textile flame retardant, preparation of pesticide emulsifier, etc.
The application of p-tert-butyl phenol is very extensive, and more products can be developed through deep processing. At present, quite a number of products have been applied in industry, some of which are in urgent need of development and application. At present, pure phenolic resin with high softening point has been produced in China. Relevant research departments should immediately start to develop new technological formula of neoprene adhesives, so as to meet the needs of users as soon as possible and reverse the situation of imported adhesives.
